Hiking Bridalveil is so different from when I was in college. There were dirt trails, slippery steep rocky sides, and the final view left something to be desired. Still, it was a fun walk. Now, it's paved road most of the walk, nice bridges. And, you can still have the steep slippery sides and enjoy better views. When you meet up with old friends, and get to see the joy on little kids faces, it makes the trip even more worth it!
Again, Champion Amy packed up her five kids (including her now four-week-old, Peter) and we drove up the mountain pass to the park. We met up with our friends from New York who just relocated to Arizona, and other friends from New York who were on vacation to Utah. Amazing! We had a fun afternoon with lots of kids, climbing, and water- which water was freezing cold! Gotta love that mountain ice water.

Miranda and Nica hiked part way up, and then came back down. I then followed them, looking for a couple of missing Giauques, and to take closer pictures of the falls. I didn't realize Nica was trying to follow me, and got stuck at the point where I crossed the water to the other side to continue up higher. She was so brave! But so worried when she could keep up with me. I didn't hear her over the water. Thankfully, kind Aunt Amy was able to rescue her. |

yay! Lunch!
We walked back down the hill from the waterfall and pulled out all the lunch goodies. We ended up swapping and sharing between the families. |

What a group! |
Because we just couldn't get enough water, we headed back to Aunt Becky's and went swimming that evening. I think the kids had just as much fun here as they did on the hike!
