It's great to be able to spend a holiday in a place that can remind me of the reason for the holiday.
We went with some friends to Fernwood Gardens just over the border in Michigan. It's such a beautiful place all year round. But, spring is fascinating because of the rebirth of all things growing in this cultivated garden and nature preserve.
We took some friends to Fernwood and chased frogs (and kids!).
We took pictures by the daffodils; we found the Queen bee in her hive. We looked at turtles and salamanders in cages, watched squirrels and birds feast on seeds. We watched a water wheel, and looked for hidden eggs (our friends brought some plastic easter eggs filled with treats that they then hid in the garden for us to find!) We enjoyed a picnic lunch outside under huge trees that are just starting to bud leaves (and were joined by some early spiders and flies).

I wanted to capture more pictures of the girls in their matching shirts. They were not very cooperative. But, who would want to sit still in that wonderland? Especially when there were so many things to explore!
Thank you, Tuellers! We had so much fun (and look forward to going back when the train is running!)

Funny to think a few weeks ago you were buried under snow!
Pretty pictures and I like the little bums on the bench. It's fun how exploring at that age is so great! :)
Beautiful! Love teh spring flowers!
