Summer Trip: August 4, Day 16

THURSDAY:

Pancake breakfast, fast friends who (a few who'd never met, and some who hadn't seen each other since they were 2!), and 3 little almost-2-year-old toddlers. It was a wonderful (and relaxing!) and beautiful day.

The kids especially loved splashing in the water, and eating ice cream!

"Is she your sister?"

"They look like cousins!"
(I love 'Nica's little pose for the picture)

Miranda "tried" to keep dry...

So did Megan...

Tara and her daughter, Xena, also enjoyed the cool water.

'Nica loved walking on the sandy rocks, and picking them up in her hands.

"Splash!"

Do a little dance...

Splash a little more...

"Ew" My dainty little friend!

Uh, yeah, "staying dry" didn't last all that long- one trip across and back and they were S-O-A-K-E-D through!

Megan hiked across the "stream" by herself. She was pretty proud!
(as she should be- the water came up to her bottom).

Miranda quickly gave up on trying to stay dry (her skirt kept slipping out of her hands), so she just went in gung-ho and started swimming with all her clothes on.

And washed her hair in the stream...

And danced in/out of the water.

Mmmm, rainbow sherbet!
It was warm enough to swim and eat ice cream without being too chilly or too hot.

hanging out to dry

I think Colorado was the PERFECT stop on our way home!
