Cross Country Trip Day 28 (Wednesday, 7/22): Grand Tetons- Leigh Lake

The girls woke up shortly after the sun. It was still a little cool, but they quickly headed to the sandy beach and started playing.

Sage, little monkey, shimmied up this tree in a hurry

Violet on the paddle board

After lunch, the girls played more on the sandy beach

Yvonne and Mem took a nap

So did Zoë

My turn on the paddle board

Breathtaking

Men used a giant sand shovel as her paddle.

We decided to load the kayak and check out the other camp site to see if we should load up and split up.

Zo¨ followed us on the paddle board. The rest of the girls stayed playing in the sand.

Look at her!

The water got a little rough from all the wind.

It was quite the trip to the other side, and we decided we wouldn't split up.

When we got back to camp, the girls noticed a deer that came right up to where they were playing

I couldn't get a good shot of the whole deer.

The girls walked right up to it!

Spa is almost done!

Soaking in the spa

Yvonne, Mem, and Zoë took a spin together in the kayak

Mem was happy to "help" with the spa

She was good at giving and receiving "mud packs"

The water in their little bath was much warmer, and Memory loved sitting in it

Doggy bury! I'm surprised they didn't get sand in their eyes!

What do you mean it's collapsing?

Bottle time, and warm snuggle with mom. They don't call Mem "Baby Snuggs" for nothing!

Buried Sand Mermaid

Oh My!

Dinner time with a nice warm fire. Until the rain came tumbling down and we skedaddled inside our tents

Look at that water! this was taken right after the rain storm passed over our camp.

Eating dinner

Yvonne and I prepared most of it in the rain, but we were glad for a hot meal with the sun shining

Megan caught a little tree frog.

We went for a walk in the woods around our camp. Mostly to entertain Mem before trying to get the girls to settle down for bed.

One of my favorite pictures of these two!

The rain started up again, so we decided to snuggle down in our sleeping bags. The girls were being goofy, but having a lot of fun. It was a great evening, even with the wind blowing our tent almost flat, and the rain that fell off/on.

Megan's eye. I love this picture because you can tell she's grinning.

It can't be time to sleep, yet!
