Venus Transit

Did you watch the Venus Transit?

The University of Notre Dame handed out free sun-viewing glasses to the first 500 people to show up at 5pm. We jumped on bikes and amidst much whining, crying, complaining, etc. we made it there and managed to get 3 pairs for our family of 6.

I had packed a picnic dinner (Gyros! Aldi has an awesome kit!) and the girls had fun sitting on the grass, eating, and then running and playing all over the grassy field in front of Jordan Hall with all the other families and kids that had come for the viewing.

Travis, Zoë and I managed to see one little speck at the one o'clock position of the sun before Travis took Zoë to Activity Days. I biked home with the girls and put them to bed. It was a fun outing (even with all the complaints).

Setting up dinner: Gyros!

She always manages to grab the best seat!

Yum! Messy but tastey.

Super Cool!
The girls were really sweet about sharing their glasses with other people who arrived too late to get some of their own.
