Another couple of cakes

Zoë really wanted to do something special for her 3rd Grade teacher. She told me a month before when his birthday was, and that she wanted to make him a cake. So, the morning of, I baked a cake (she picked the flavors) and then I was left to try and decorate something school and male-teacher appropriate. This is what I came up with...

The apples are actually cake-pops (crumbled up cake from the left-overs of evening the two layers of cake, mixed with frosting, rolled into balls, dipped in red candy melts, with fondant eyeballs and leaves and pretzel stems).

Then, another friend of mine said she wanted to make a cake for her husband who was finishing his residency program. We had a very narrow window to work in (since she was out of town for the two weeks before), but we managed to crank out this baby in just a little bit of time. Oh, and it's one of my favorite kinds of cake... snickerdoodle! (YUM!)

I am SUPER happy with the way this one turned out. Thanks so much for letting me have a new challenge and letting me play with all my toys!
