Summer Trip: July 30, Day 11

SATURDAY:

A morning where cousins played with "pill" or "potato" bugs, followed by splashing (whole body!) in the warm water, lunch, and then an afternoon at an interactive drama (Goldilocks Capone and the Three Amigos). Miranda still talks and asks questions about the play! It made a huge impression on her, and she is still worried that Goldilocks kidnapped the pretty Chalupa.

That evening, we took some family pictures in Grandma Winkie's backyard. Although I don't have a photo of it, I also rode on Michael's motorcycle that evening- way fun!

Violet showing me her pill bugs.

'Nica buckling Violet into her car seat.

What's Dat?
Sharing her find with her cousin.

Capturing pill bugs in the driveway and dancing around.

Have you ever told a child, "You can play in the water, but don't get wet!"

Well, that never lasts long, does it?

But they sure had a lot of fun!

Yvonne was kind enough to give us all matching feathers in our hair.

Travis worked on a broken bike and had some "help" from his nephews, Keven and Keeth.

It was a big enough project that eventually the bigger boys got involved.

Keeth helping out with the bike.

Walking in to the melodrama.

The "Oldest" Cousins, the FirstBorns in their families.

Stuck in a corner, they tolerated the hullaballoo

Want some?!?!

Did Goldilocks kidnap Chalupa!?! Why!?!???

Pretty Girl.

She looks SO grown up to me!

Megan and Keven with Nana peeking over their shoulder. They were reading the drink menu.

Don't choke on your soda!

A happy couple- they haven't been able to spend much time together because Michael's been working in Vernal while Aleta is living in SLC.

Cheese!

Happy and Awake now...

But she got tuckered out, and there's no better snuggle chair than Grandma's lap.

COUSINS!
(Nica and Violet were napping at Nanaunt's house)

You said how tall?

The Boys
uh, I mean, the Men

The cousins clambered into the windowsill in Grandma Winkie's basement.

Most of the Wing Clan
(Missing: Aleta and Keeth, and I'm not sure where they went, and Matt)

Roman Noses
an inherited trait
(thankfully manifest in the male line!)

This is our awesome friend, Randy Finch, of the 20-buck bunch, and his wife Barbara.
I've known Randy since I was born.

Yay, Wrestling!

Here are the men/boys. What a good lookin' group!

Alysa and Zo&euml, A-Z and inseparable!

Yvonne and her girls. Can you tell Violet was making a stink about having her picture taken? I can't in this shot...

But I can tell from Violet's mom's face that things were a little strained...

Grandma Winkie with ALL NINE of her Great-Grand-Children

It took them a while, but we did manage to get the to cooperate. They all loved riding the horse!

Violet and her daddy, Matt.
