HELP!!!

Vacation on a Budget

Since we are spending three weeks in Utah this summer, and we are getting families together, and we've spent all our savings to fly out there (just kidding- we have enough left to cover food on the trip ), I'm looking for some suggestions from friends about what FREE or very cheap things to do in the Salt Lake City and nearby areas (including Utah Valley). If you have links to a website in addition to the cost and location, that would be AWESOME.

Some suggestions or ideas that have already been proposed:

  1. Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house
  2. Antelope Island (but we're open to other hiking locations; just keep in mind the ages of our kids: 0-11 and adult "kids" and an 8-month pregnant lady with anemia and not used to high altitudes)
  3. Zoo (we have a membership to the South Bend Zoo that gets us into the Hogle Zoo for free.
  4. Freedom Festival in Provo/Orem on the Fourth of July weekend; 5k or 10K run, parade, hot air baloons, craft tables, and many more

I can't wait to see what fun places and activities you propose!

If you have or can borrow a GPS, try geocaching.

This is not free - but is a must - CAFE RIO-PORK!

1. Drive through Alpine Loop
2. Tour of the conference center
3. Tour of candy factory in Alpine
4. Thanksgiving Point / Red Butte Gardens at University of Utah (flowers)

I will keep thinking and will get back to you!

I am so excited that you are coming to Utah!! Yah!
