Aside from the amazing and delicious birthday cake friends made for me, I spent the morning of my birthday at Sugar Camp Days. Megan had a field trip to a Maple Syrup farm and state park. She was so impressed that she really wanted to go back. It just so happened it fell on my birthday, and despite a very cold morning (in the low 30s), the day was sunny and clear, and was beautiful! Not bad for the last day of winter....
The girls made candles:
Miranda was smart and decided to leave the walking around in the cold air to me while she sat huddle next to the fire!

We ate maple-syrup cotton candy and ran around outside.

The girls wove place mats with a maple leaf decal...

Travis helped the girls drill a hole to tap some maple syrup...

I even had a wonderful evening alone with Travis after the girls got to bed. We headed to a nice restaurant (Bonefish Grill) and then caught a movie (The Adjustment Bureau).
