Primay Talk

Megan gave her first talk in Primary last Sunday. When I asked her during the week if she'd be willing to stand up in front of everybody and give a talk she said, "I have to grow up a little bit, first". I said she had a few more days and then she'd be big enough to give a talk.

She helped me pick out the pictures, and come up with some of what she was going to say. The topic was "God's creations bless us".

We practiced it together twice before church on Sunday. She told me, as we were starting the first time, "Mom! I guess I grew up a little bit!"

She wasn't scared. She climbed right up to the podium and pulled the microphone to her mouth. She had a little problem projecting her voice (only in public- believe me, she has no problem with that at home). Her dad watched from the back of the room and he said he could understand her- but he knows how she talks, too.

Looks like Megan will have few problems with public speaking. She was happy with herself, but not nearly as dramatic about the whole thing as her big sister was for her first talk in primary.

Oh! That sounds so cute. Good reply, "You still have a few days to grow up!" The simple trust. I love it.

Wow! A brand new Sunbeam and she's already giving her first talk. Soon she'll be working the Stake with the High Council. :-)

Yay Megan! What a big step. I always wanted to do a talk to participate but I hate being in front of people. Still do.
