Many of you have seen the news: Upstate western New York hit with a winter's worth of snow in only three days. 70 inches of the white stuff fell. Although here in Livonia, almost directly south 30 minutes of Rochester (we live at the northern tip of the western-most Finger Lake) we did get some snow, it wasn't much. I am VERY grateful for natural gas, central heating, and good insulation. Or at least I was as I huddled under blankets and read while trying to stay warm.
The younger three waiting for their bus on Tuesday morning (Miranda, Nica then Megan). This is still about how much snow we have visible, but it has certainly been blown around a lot more. And today the skies were beautiful and blue, but it was bitter cold outside (15, windchill down to 6).
Our girls are grateful for winter gear and fun friends so they can go sledding!
Miranda is on the far left towards the top in the red coat holding something blue. Megan in purple is right of her, holding a black sled. Neighbor Katarina is just below them square to the camera in a purple-magenta coat. I can't tell which of the other neighbors are which, but Nica is at the bottom right of the hill in light purple, running towards the bright orange sled. The other kids are from our neighborhood.
It is too soon for such cold weather. I am glad I have so many pictures to remind me of how beautiful it will be here again in another six months. Meanwhile, I am going into hibernation mode. And hoping that we have many more sunny days this winter to balance out the cold and snow.
