We live right on some undeveloped land in our neighborhood, in a rural area. When I say rural, I mean that although we live one mile outside of town, that town consists of 1/2 mile of 10 stores. Thankfully those include a small grocery store, a NAPA auto parts, some restaurants, post office, library, etc. The other side of us is the north point of Lake Conesus (con-knee-shus) where there are lots of little shops in the "town" of Lakeville. The shops could be cuter but at least they fulfill lots of functions: a laundromat (yay! I can dry my clothes!), a hardware store (yay! I can fix many of the stupid little things that are broken!), and gas stations, ice cream stores, etc. We haven't eaten at any of the restaurants as a family, tho'.
On Sundays we can hear bands playing at Vitalle Park, the park in Lakeville. I hope that we can finish with all the house projects soon so that we can look to invest in some kayaks and go launch them from Vitalle Park!
As I said before, we are in a bit of area that is more rural, despite living in a planned subdivision. Our front looks out on two empty lots filled with wildflowers. Our backyard faces undeveloped land full of trees, bushes, wild blackberries, wildflowers, and lots of critters...
Our first night here we spotted rabbits, deer, frogs and fish in our pond out back.
Sunday after church we came home and the girls walked out on the deck and exclaimed over a deer. If you zoom in you might be able to see it just behind the play set.
