Sleeping Through the Night

I was talking with some lady friends of mine about those last few weeks of pregnancy and the terrible sleep you get just before the baby is born, and how that might be a conditioning so you're prepared for the up-all-night and poor-sleep with a newborn.

Somebody said that they were looking forward to sleeping well through the night again. I murmured, "As long as you're a mom, I don't think you ever get a good night's sleep again- no matter if you've got a newly-born or newly-moved-out." An empty-nester confirmed my fear.

Yet, as I look down at my little baby (who is still hit-and-miss with sleeping through the night), as she is nursing and tuggin on her own hair as she falls asleep, I think that I would gladly stay up at night for another little baby.

We don't know if we'll have another one. There's a good chance we won't just because both Travis and I are scared about my back not being able to handle another pregnancy/delivery. Still, I would not mind giving up some sleep for another little baby- in a few years.

Go for it! Look how sweet she is (as well as the rest). I love all the pictures- almost makes you yawn...

So darling. They are so precious when awake, but there is just something about being asleep that is just...angelic.
