I've had some people, especially those not familiar with Spirits (in the alcohol sense, not the spiritual or religious sense), ask me what does the name of my blog signify.
I wanted something in the name that would indicate a number of things: that we live at Notre Dame, Indiana*, Travis works at Notre Dame, I love chocolate, I think my family is the best of the crop (I'm allowed personal bias, it is my blog), and our last name is Bailey.
Well, there's a drink that is called "Bailey's Irish Cream." It's a hot drink made with chocolate, cream, and whiskey. It's very rich, and (so I understand) very good. Especially in cold climates (such as Ireland? but then I guess the Irish like to have just about any excuse for drinking).
So in 2 words I was able to convey all I wanted, and what's more Bailey's Irish Cream warms you up from the inside; a trait that would be nice if my posts also accomplished on occasion...
*The University of Notre Dame is actually located in Notre Dame, IN. We just live in the city that surrounds it.
