Science Fair

Zoë choose to participate in a voluntary Science Fair this year. There were only about 30 participants from her school. Her project was to see what different kinds of insulation did to protect ice from heat. She designed and executed the experiment with a little help from me. Unfortunately, her dad wasn't able to help (due to all the responsibilities he had on his plate: grant writing, promotion application, new work as High Priest group leader, etc.). That left her statistics portion weak, but otherwise her project was really good.

And, she understood everything! So much so, and she did such a great job, that she won a Blue Ribbon for her project.

Zoë showing off her poster she put together (she took all the pictures of the melting ice at different time points) and displaying her blue ribbon.
Oh, and she also hand-knitted the scarf around her neck :)
She was very proud of her work. I was very proud of her volunteering for more work, her diligence in completing the project, and for her understanding of the science behind everything.

Yeah, Zoe!!!! So very cool! I wish I were so science-minded. That is so neat! Did she come up with the idea herself? Love the scarf, too!
