Irony

Looking for a new camera. Thinking about buying one that is "rugged" meaning I can drop it, take it to the beach, go swimming underwater with it. It's sounding really good- especially if I can take care of it well enough and not let a 1-year-old use it to play hide-and-seek (we're thinking the trash can was her place of choice for the hiding- and despite seeking we haven't found it).

Anyway, while looking at reviews, I came across this blog a Canadian fellow is doing where he's using the camera I'm considering purchasing, Panasonic Lumix TS3 to take 5000 photos. This one tickled my funnybone:

If you have any recommendations/suggestions about digital cameras in the <$400 range, I'm listening...

Don't get the Panasonic! That was the lowsy camera we had! Don't do it!

I love Canon. I dropped my Rebel in Japan (not saying get a Rebel here, just telling a story) and it has a small dent but still works just great.
