I guess I've been in the mood for comfort food. Yesterday we had a pork roast with potatoes and carrots in the crock pot. I walked in the door after church and I was ready for dinner. Today, I had planned to have Pasta Salad (artichoke hearts, olives, little pieces of bleu-&-cheddar cheese, and whatever else I could find to toss in, smothered in a Newman's Own Caesar dressing). But, as I studied the picture my window framed, I decided I was in the need of something a little warmer,
more like winter and less like summer. So, instead we're having fresh homemade whole-wheat bread and cheesy potato soup. Mmmmmm. Definitely comfort food.

There's actually a second part to this post. For her birthday, I wanted to get Zoë a Webkinz stuffed animal. They are like any other stuffed animal, except you can go online and play games to earn "money" that you can then decorate your animal's room. It's pretty cute. I didn't get one for Zoë because I didn't know what animal she'd like, and I really wanted her to pick out her own.
On Saturday, while we were at the mall as a family, we saw some Webkinz. I pointed them out to Zoë and aparently they are an item at school. She immediately wanted to get one. I told her she had some birthday money left over, enough to cover any of them that were on sale. She picked out a tiny black lab puppy. She's pretty cute! When we got home we had to name her. I tried to namer her "little blackie" in Spanish, but apparently that's a cuss word and wasn't acceptable on the website. Oops. So, Zoë got the baby name book. YUP, she found the baby name book, said to open it to the girl pages, and she picked out the name "Comfort". I think it's a perfect name for her little pet.

Zoë took the pictures with her camera.

So cute!!! Comfort foods. Are you pregnant or just cold? Sorry about the cold weather. WE had a beautiful 82 degrees today. I am not trying to rub it in--just want you to come away from the cold and visit. We would love to have you!! We had Greg's brother's family over yesterday for dinner and were able to have a picnic in our backyard. Fun!
Too funny. It's 80° down here today.
My 6 year old got a webkinz for his birthday last year, and it's a dog and he named him "Comfy". How funny!
