Travis was telling me about a co-worker who was hitting on a girl by telling her he'd teach her how to make cheesecake- then he turned to Travis and asked him how to make cheesecake. Travis told him: get your keys, drive to the store, go to the freezer section, pick out a cheesecake. "But, then it won't be homemade!"
Well, his friend then goes on, later that day, to say how he makes homemade calzones... you get frozen dough, put on some sauce and toppings.... Travis laughed, "That's homemade?"
I had to laugh because Travis came home to my "homemade" calzones that night. My calzones are not made from scratch, but they are homemade. I may use Rhodes frozen roll dough, but it is my sauce, assembly, and technique. The best (and sometimes most difficult part) of making this dinner is that the girls LOVE to help me! I also always seem to make them the same day I just finish mopping the floors. But, they taste YUMMY, and the girls really enjoy making and eating them. Oh, and they are perfect for lunches (if they last that long).
I've posted the recipe with detailed photos on another blog I contribute to, Recipe Chicks.

ooh that is a good idea too! I think you should start a recipe blog too! ( or have you and I haven't seen it yet?)
I think the new definition of homemade is if you alter the state of the frozen item and had to cut.chop or shredd 1 or more items! to add to the frozen item!
works for me!
