I have had lots of fun with my Silhouette this week. Here are a few of the things I have made:
This picture shows how short/small the candy stands are (9" tall and bottom circle is about 6" diameter):
The stand on the right is super simple, and is not nearly as sturdy. I don't think it would work for anything larger. The one on the left is Solid, although requires more cuts and more paper. But it works great!
The little dome box was a pumpkin design I made and adapted. I need to go back and look at the original I copied. This one needs a few more weeks to make it how I want it, but it is a stirdy little candy box.
I also thought the YW could make chocolates as gifts during our two crafting weeks in December. So I wanted to come up with a box that could hold them. I had a box design that I tweaked, and this is what I came up with:
The little insert aloes there to be two layers of chocolates. This was super fun, and super simple to make.
And, because we are also going to make necklaces in YW (the other craft gift), I wanted a jewelry box:
I also tried my new double-sided adhesive paper. It is AWESOME! I used them to make the caps on the ornaments. I had intended to use these in the drawers of he Christmas Tree (see below), but I made them too but. So now I need to figure out how to have somebody hang these..
The double-sided adhesive was easy and fun to stick on. I will DEFINITELY be using that again!
The last project I worked on was a few weeks ago. This took a TON of paper (24 sheets of various card stock/patterned 8.5x11). Whew! But, it is really sure. Now, I need to find some things to put in the little drawers:
It isn't quite finished. I still need to put on the numbers and a star on top. I might give this advent tree to one of my Visiting Teaching sisters. But, I might keep it, too :)
And the last one I wanted to post is part of a set I got last year. Nica absconded with it up to her room as soon as I showed her how the candle made it glow. I found the LED candle still flickering inside the little cutout two days later! Yay for LED lights!
Someday I might make a whole little paper village out of these. So much fun! I still have more ideas and more projects for this Holliday season: luminaries as gifts, pajamas, advent calendars, etc.
I love my toy!!
