FHE: getting ready for spring planting

As part of our excitement to welcome a (very delinquent) Spring, Travis and I went shopping for items for our yard/garden. We wanted some potted plants to attract humming birds and give some beauty to our back deck. We decided we wanted to paint some terrecotta pots, so for Family Home Evening, in 50° weather, we pulled out the acrylic paints and each one of us got to paint a green spray-painted pot!

Nica & Miranda waiting for us to get everything ready decided to dress up a little.

Our finished pots with soil in them, waiting for seedlings or other plants

Miranda painted the inside of her pot. We told her she wouldn't be able to see it, but she still was happy to paint a picture inside.

Miranda painted a rainbow on the outside, and then...

Fruit on the other side (banana & blueberries)

Nica painted a (stenciled) bird.

Zoë painted flowers and other colorful designs.

Megan also painted food, but added this stencil quote (from Studio C).

We put these pots on our back deck, filled them with flowers. Some of the flowers did great, some didn't get watered enough, some didn't transplant well.

A learning experience, but we all love their beauty and originality.
